According to reports, the new Fit has a wider chassis with a turbocharged 1.0-liter three cylinder engine.
These spy photos give us a first glimpse at the next-gen Honda Fit (or jazz depending upon the market). Honda’s five-door hatchback looks set for big changes.
The test mule was covered in heavy camouflage and extra panels appear to hide the vehicle’s form. We can draw some conclusions about this new model. New headlights are added to the Fit with large, circular projectors. There is also a strip at the top that will likely be used for turn signals. This design retains the additional window between the A and B-pillars, which allows for better visibility outward.
The rear is camouflaged in the same way as the front. The camouflage covering the taillights suggests a change to a horizontal layout from the current one that extends up to the front.
According to a new rumor, the new Fit will arrive in the fall of 2019, at the earliest in Japan according to the Japanese website . The new chassis will be wider. The 1.0-liter turbocharged, three-cylinder turbocharged engine will likely power the vehicle in Japan. It produces 125 horsepower (93kilowatts) and is already in the Civic. A hybrid version will be available in certain markets and will have a two-motor layout. Inside the vehicle, there will be an upgraded navigation system that includes traffic information and in-car wi fi.
The current Fit was introduced at the 2014 North American International Auto Show. It went on sale in 2015 for the model year. For the 2018 model , Honda included a driver assistance suite that includes adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation brakes, and lane departure mitigation.
