It could also be called the Performante, or the Tecnica.

It is no secret that Lamborghini will be giving its Urus a midcycle makeover. Numerous spy photos have shown the updated design of the crossover, which isn’t too different from the current model’s styling. The updated Urus could produce a hotter version than the current design. Our spy photographers allegedly captured it in snow.

If rumors are true, the current powertrain, a twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, will continue to power facelifted models. Lamborghini may tweak the engine to produce a little more power. The current engine is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 and produces 641 horsepower (479 Kilowatts) as well as 628 pound-feet (848 Newton meters) of torque. The crossover could produce 700 horsepower (514 kW) if Lamborghini has a hotter Urus version.

Rumours also suggest that the Urus may adopt a plug in hybrid powertrain. Lamborghini intends to electrify all models in its range to some extent, including the Urus. This will be completed by 2024, Lamborghini says. The Urus plug in hybrid could produce as much as 820 horsepower (603kW) if the rumors are true. This would make it the ultimate Urus version.

We are not able to reveal much about the hotter variant, but spy photographers think it may be called the Performante, or the Tecnica. It could debut later in the year. Already, the Urus has a new front fascia that is more functional and aggressive than the one it had before.

This example is not different than the ones we saw in spy shots. The aggressive front and vents on the hood are what we’ve seen before. Although the Urus’ exterior styling will not change much, the updated version should be competitive. Although we haven’t seen the interior of the crossover, we don’t expect Lamborghini’s to make any significant changes.

Lamborghini could unveil the new Urus at Pebble Beach in August. Both variants will likely break cover at the Pebble Beach event, with the updated Urus expected to go on sale in 2023. Lamborghini should offer a hotter Urus model, as it is the brand’s most-sold model. The company sold more Urus crossovers in the first three months than it did Countach supercars during the coupe’s 16 year production run.
