New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class rendering follows The Spy Shots

This extra-long luxury sedan might look something like this.

The next-generation Mercedes S-Class was spotted testing in Maybach and Benz forms. However, even the most recent prototypes were well-camouflaged. Daimler’s elegant sedan has been digitally removed by someone who imagined the new S-Class with the double-M logo in production form.

Although it is a speculation rendering, the design exercise follows the trend of spy shots that we have seen over the past months. KKS Studio shows the design process of the Maybach S-Class, including the modified bumper and front grille from the Maybach GLS.

To replicate the prototypes, the full-size luxury sedan was designed with the latest headlight design by Mercedes. The flush door handles also hint at the next-generation S-Class. Although the rendering does not attempt to predict the rear of the car’s exterior, we believe the W223 will have wider taillights than the prototypes. We also expect them to extend onto the trunk lid, as seen on other sedans with the three-pointed star like the recently updated E-Class.

The interior will be a major overhaul. Spy photos have shown a completely new dashboard, featuring a large portrait-oriented touchscreen that controls the MBUX infotainment systems. The touchscreen will dominate the center console. It will contain virtually all the onboard functions, despite the fact that physical buttons will be kept to a minimum. Although the new design might be controversial, the S-Class is a technological marvel and the large screen will certainly play a major role in this.

Official premiere of the Benz-branded S-Class is expected to take place later in 2020. However, there’s a good chance that we will have to wait longer for the Maybach version with a longer wheelbase. The V12 engine will be retained by Mercedes, which is expected to compete for the Bentley Flying Spur. However, the twin-turbo V8 will make up the majority of the sales. It is possible that the standard-wheelbase version of the new S will be replaced by the convertible and coupe.
