Pagani will only make five examples.
Pagani has created the Huayra Codalunga variant of its supercar. Pagani created it at the request of two clients. The Grandi Complicazioni division, which specializes on one-offs as well as limited-run models, was responsible for creating the car. Pagani produced only five Huayra Codalungas, and all have been sold.
Inspired by Le Mans longtail racers from the 1960s, the car was designed. Pagani was approached by the two clients in 2018 to design a longtail variant. The styling concept was finalized over two years after the two worked with Pagani for more than two years. Pagani made full-size models in one-quarter scale and full-size for clients to see before they started production.
The Huayra Codalunga is the result. Pagani spent a lot of resources on the project to make sure it met all international regulations. This is a huge undertaking for five cars. The powerful V12 engine is hidden behind the large rear engine cover. It produces 840 horsepower (617 Kilowatts) as well as 811 pound-feet (1.100 Newton-meters).
The Pagani’s rear grille is missing, so the titanium-coated ceramic exhaust system weighs only 9.7 lbs (4.4 kilograms). The exhaust system ends in Pagani’s quad tailpipes. The lightweight exhaust helps to reduce the curb weight to 2,822 lbs (1.290 kg). This lightweight supercar packs a lot of power and uses advanced composite materials to build the bodywork.
Pagani used only semi-matter and fully matte paints in neutral colors. There is leather/nubuck upholstery inside and machined aluminum parts. The interior is elegant and intricate.
The five Pagani Huayra Codealunga longtails are each custom-made by an owner. They paid at least EUR7million ($7.4 today’s exchange rate). Pagani does not say when they will receive their cars but it is currently in its fourth year. The new Codalunga is the successor to the Huayra NC Pagani introduced last month. Pagani is also preparing its next-gen supercar.
