Production begins in 2024.
Ram is set to launch the all-electric pickup in 2024. The brand will have to design it, and the teasers reveal how that is changing. These new images show a truck that is different than what we have seen, although the teasers for earlier concepts were not. These new images reveal the Ram 1500 BEV’s evolution over earlier designs and they look promising.
While the new teasers reveal little, they do not reveal all that much. The good bits are still hidden. The images do reveal a part of the truck’s lighting signature. The front daytime running lights have been split into two pieces, enclosing the illuminated RAM nameplate at the middle of the grille. Similar styling is found at the rear with the taillights running into the tailgate, flanking an illuminated RAM badge.
The all-electric Ram 1500 EV looks like a truck with big fenders and a bulging roof. The Ram’s styling is still unknown. The Chevy Silverado Electric EV is more traditional in its truck design, while Ford leans toward a more traditional look. The futuristic-looking Tesla cybertruck is also available. Ram will not begin 1500BEV production until 2024. However, there are many things that can be changed with the design.
Ram is also looking for input on the design of the truck. Ram plans to hold several events with truck owners in order to learn what they think about an electric pickup. This feedback could have significant consequences for the production version of the truck, which might not be available until next year.
The truck’s exact details are still unknown. We expect Ram to place the 1500 BEV on Stellantis’ STLA Frame platform. Stellantis will then use this platform to support several models, including full-size SUVs and commercial trucks. The truck should be able to travel 500 miles (805 km) on its dedicated electric architecture. This platform can accommodate batteries with capacities from 159-kilowatt hours to more than 200 kWh.
Ram’s electric pickup truck is not too far behind its rivals. Chevy just revealed the Silverado E-V earlier in the year. It will be available for the 2024 model years. Stellantis has plans to electrify all of its brands, not just Ram. Stellantis also presented the Ram teasers during its Dare Forward 2030 strategy presentation.
