It is possible that a reveal will be made in the coming months.
BMW has introduced the X7 model year 2019. This luxury vehicle is a top-tier product for SUV enthusiasts. Although it’s the latest model from the automaker, the company is still preparing for the mid-cycle refresh. We first saw the redesign in spy photos taken last September. The model tried to conceal a new front fascia. New spy photos show that the SUV has been cold-weather tested for the first time.
The most recent photos don’t show much. The camouflage wrap that was used on the other X7 test cars is still covering the front and rear fascias. BMW cannot hide the new SUV’s face, even with its camouflage wrap. Photos show the X7 with a front that seems to draw its inspiration from the New 7 Series The automaker has not yet revealed. The similarities are obvious. New headlights are seen on the X7, which appear to be lower than before. These headlights are positioned in front of what appears to be an enlarged grille. The rear-end changes are subtler, and designers will likely update the taillight designs as well as the rear fascia shape.
Rumours abound that the X7 will get a new curved dashboard. Other changes could also be made, such as the new infotainment system. BMW currently uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-six engine and a twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This produces 456 horsepower (340 Kilowatts) as well as 479 pound-feet (649 Newton meters) of torque. These will likely be carried over to the new model. BMW is rumored to tweak each one, making them more efficient and powerful. Both are wins. Rumours also suggest that an electric X7 could be equipped with a hydrogen range extender.
This latest batch of spy photos shows X7 doing winter testing. It is likely that we will see it debut in 2022. Although this is a quick refresh of a new model, their life cycles have become shorter due to increased competition. A reveal is possible in the early 2022, but it’s likely that it will be months off. The X7 will be competing against large luxury offerings like the Mercedes GLS.
