New York: High-Tech Tweaks in the C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet

New York: High-Tech Tweaks in the C-Class Coupe and CabrioletThe C43 AMG coupe/cabriolet packs a biturbo V6 engine with 385 horsepower and 384 lb.ft. The standard features include a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4-Matic all-wheel driving.

Mercedes-Benz debuts the new Coupe and Cabriolet versions of its refreshed C-Class sedan at New York Auto Show. This follows the Geneva Motor Show’s launch of the C-Class sedan. These four-door versions get the same upgrades as the four-door, but they show off the improvements with a little bit more style.

The four-door C-Class is styled in the same way. Standard models have a single-bar grille. The C43 trim has a two-bar piece. AMG models have a prominent diffuser at the rear and circular exhaust tips.

The main changes made for the new coupe and convertible are functional rather than aesthetic. For example, while the headlights look the same, they have full LED illumination. All models come standard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment, and all models have smartphone integration. Upgrades are possible to the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. A multi-function steering wheel is also available, which supports swipes for control.

These models also support car-tox communications, which allows drivers to send and receive warning messages about driving conditions.

The output is sent to the rear via a nine-speed automatic or the optional 4Matic all-wheel drive system. Mercedes claims that the Coupe can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.9 seconds.
