It looks modern and evolutionary.
Ford’s most-sold F-150 has been a hugely important vehicle for the company. The truck has been the dominant segment for so many years, it’s not surprising that the next F-150 will debut in 2021. It is likely that it will sport an evolutionary design.
The next-gen F-150 was captured by spy photographers running through Michigan in more camo than any cast member from Duck Dynasty. Despite the truck’s extensive body, it is difficult to see specific details.
You will see a piece of camo on the driver’s side door. This is to hide what appears to have been a dip in its sill. It is a characteristic that also exists on the current F-150. The test vehicle is wearing a set of 22-inch wheels, which are expected to be used on the Platinum trim level. If you are curious about the secret behind the cab, we believe it to be a spoiler mounted on the roof. This is likely to increase fuel economy. It could be an equipment that is used only on test vehicles.
We haven’t been able to get clear shots of the interior but we expect Ford will take a better look at Rams’ class-leading 12.0-inch infotainment screen. No other competitor currently has a system that is comparable to the Ram’s. Although the new Explorer’s horizontal screen may give a glimpse of what’s coming with the next F-150 we are not certain.
A hybrid F-150 and an all-electric F-150 are both currently under development. We have seen the prototype electric pickup in testing with the current generation’s exterior shell. These models may not be included in the next-generation truck, but it is possible.
