Next-Gen Ford Ranger Interior Previewed In New Everest Spy Shots

Next-Gen Ford Ranger Interior Previewed In New Everest Spy Shots
Both models share the same underpinnings.

Ford has already teased the next-generation Ranger. This is expected to debut in the coming months. It is closely related to the Everest SUV, which was also recently captured in Europe. Our friends at Motor.es have provided us with new spy photos that give us a peek inside the SUV. This gives us a preview of what the Ranger’s interior might look like once Ford unveils it.

These photos show the interior of the Ranger and Everest, which is virtually unchanged from their current-generation models. There is no camouflage and nothing is covering the interior. Although there are minor differences between the models, the dash and instrument panels look almost identical to the originals. Ford’s new rotary dial one has replaced the shift lever that was sticking out of center console. The dial for the drive mode selector is also available. The steering wheel appears to have a new design.

These new dials stand out against the black-on–black interior. They were tacked onto a center console in their new positions. This is not the final interior design of the SUV. The lack of camouflage, and the slow installation of the new pieces (including the electronic parking brake), suggest that this is not the case. We were expecting to see larger changes, but those could have been hidden in another test vehicle. We have not seen the interior of the Ranger, which may be very different to the one we saw here.

The next-gen Ford Ranger joins the newly redesigned Ford F-150, and the all-new Ford Maverick in Ford’s expanding truck line-up. It will also share its underpinnings alongside the next-gen VW Amarok pickup. Ford and VW have agreed to share the truck platform. Although details about the powertrain are still unknown, spy photos suggest that there will be a plug in hybrid version of the Raptor along with a sportier Raptor variant. Other engines may also be available. Ford will likely debut the Ranger later in the year. It will be available for purchase in 2022, according to our estimates.
