It will debut in 2023.
The HyundaiKona was introduced in late 2017 and helped to expand the company’s range of crossovers. The redesign was done for 2021. Hyundai already plans to make the next generation. The next-generation Kona was captured by our spy photographers for the first time. It appears to have significant improvements over the previous model.
Although the crossover is heavily covered with camouflage and distortion cladding, it can’t conceal the fact that it appears larger than the model it will replace. The crossover may grow in size but it doesn’t appear to have any significant design changes.
The Kona will retain the split-headlight design of the current Kona, but it may get vertically lower lamps. This is in line with other Hyundai models such as the Palisade or Tucson. The styling changes to the crossover are still a mystery.
Although it’s too soon to speculate on the powertrains of the model, the spy shots show that the car runs on gas. The company will continue to offer the crossover with a range of powertrains, including electrified. Early rumors suggest that the N Line will be continued to the next generation. This could mean that we might see a fully-fledged N variant in future.
These photos give a glimpse into the interior. They show a digital instrument cluster, and nothing else. Although Hyundai has covered the interior thoroughly, it seems that there are two screens on the dash right next to one another.
Although the next-gen Kona is still in its early stages of development we expect it to make its debut next year before being released in the USA as a 2024 model. As crossovers are still very popular, there is speculation that the Kona will replace the i30 family of cars in Europe.
