Next-Gen Kia Sorento Render Gives Us A Peek At Its Future Redesign

The Sorento gets an evolutionary design.

Kia will soon release the next-generation Sorento crossover. We have seen prototypes with visible coverings at the rear and front, which hide many of the changes. Following a refresh in 2019, the next-gen crossover is now available. Keeping your sales fresh is crucial in the highly competitive crossover market. Although the unveiling of the next-generation Sorento is unlikely to happen for months, Kolesa.ru has rendered the crossover. They have taken many of its design hints and created an elegant vehicle.

This rendering shows a redesign of the front and rear ends, which is fitting considering that these are the most camouflaged parts of the test mules. The new clamshell-styled hood features sleeker headlights and revised fog lights. A lower front fascia draws attention to the subdued grille design. The front is also taller and more upright that the current model’s, while the side mirrors have been placed on stalks. The rendering is more in line to Kia’s current design language.

Similar results can be seen on the rear end of the vehicle. The rear hatch is unchanged in the rendering, and the taillights are more sleek. Spy photos however show a heavily camouflaged rear end making it impossible to make any assumptions about its design. While the rendering shows minor changes, it refines the design even more than the 2019 update. There are no interior spy photos so there is no rendering that shows how the interior design might change. It should be in line with other Kia vehicles that have been updated recently.

It is strange that Kia has updated the Sorento again so quickly after a 2019 model-year refresh. Kia has only updated the design once since entering its third generation in the U.S. for the 2016 model years. The next-gen Sorento will be released in 2016, so the model may still be around one to two years old. It is possible that the redesign will be just in time.
