Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 Officially Renewed From Spy Shots

There are many speculations, but nothing is confirmed.

A prototype Mazda crossover was spotted up close earlier this month in southern California. It had monochrome wraps to conceal its styling. It was spotted in southern California with monochrome wraps that tried to hide its styling.

There have been many speculations regarding the future of Mazda’s top-selling model. According to a Japanese report, the next CX-5 will sit on a rear-wheel drive platform that is shared with the Mazda6. The automaker has also been working on inline-six gasoline engines that can be used with this sporty platform.

Another report suggested that the CX-5’s next generation could be called CX-50. This is again in line with the CX-30’s naming convention and styling convention.

The automaker isn’t revealing much information so nothing can be confirmed. We believe we will find out the truth before the end of this year considering the thin concealment on the prototype. Keep an eye out for more information.
