Next-Gen Porsche 911 Turbo Spied Gassing And Going [UPDATE]

Although there is still camo, this is a great look at the meaner 911.

It’s Here!

The next-gen Porsche 911 Turbo is in development. A new gallery of photos captures two of them filling up gas while stopping to test in Nevada. These photos were taken by a reader of ‘s Italian version and shared with us.

The two test mules are identical from the front, but you can notice the differences at the back. One of them wears black, five-spoke wheels and has a pair of oval-shaped exhaust outlets. This is likely the standard 911 Turbo. The other has fork-spoked wheels and four trapezoidal pipes at the back. This one is probably the hotter Turbo S.

The Turbo models are wider than the 911 Carrera and have a revised rear deck. Instead of incorporating spoilers into the tail curve, the Turbo models have an active wing at their back.

These spy photos were also taken in the 911 Turbo’s natural habitat, Nurburgring. This model looks like the Turbo S. As this gallery shows it is in a similar state to undress.

According to reports, the new models use an upgrade of the 3.8-liter twin turbo flat-six engine. Standard Turbo is said to have 600 horsepower (447kilowatts), while Turbo S would produce around 640hp (477kW). The drivetrain will continue to be all-wheel drive with an eight-speed dual clutch gearbox.

The 911 Turbo may make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, after missing the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Geneva Motor Show will be the next place where the 911 Turbo could make its debut in California if there is no public premiere. Spy shots indicate that the 911 Turbo Cabriolet should arrive soon after the coupe.
