The next-gen BRZ and its Toyota 86 sibling will arrive in March 2021 at the earliest. However, the coronavirus epidemic could force it to arrive later. According to Best Car they will ride on a modified version the current chassis despite previous rumors about a switch to Toyota TGNA.
The Subaru FA24 2.4-liter flat four engine, which is naturally aspirated in the BRZ and 86, will be used. The engine will produce 217 horsepower (162 Kilowatts) as well as 177 pound-feet (242 Newton-meters), of torque. Comparatively, the 2.0-liter flat-four powerplant produces 205 horsepower (152 kW) as well as 156 lbft (211 Nm), or 151 lbft with an automatic gearbox.
