Put-in-Bay refers to a Ohio town, and not a directive.
Police in Put-in-Bay had an unplanned fishing trip after Jermiah Braswell, a player in the NFL, drove his Chevy Camaro into Lake Erie. According to 13abc TV the incident took place Friday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. The orange Camaro Braswell drove off an embankment and landed on the lake’s shores below. Although no one was injured, police took photos of the accident scene to show damage to outdoor furniture.
Camaro was travelling at a high speed, before it sped over a large area of grass and landed in the lake. The Camaro veered off the road and drove along the shoreline before landing in the lake at South Bass Island. Braswell was still sitting in the driver’s chair and trying to drive forward when police arrived.
When police asked Braswell how he got to the lake, he spoke in a slurred tone. Instead, he said he was “stuck.” Police took photos of the Camaro on the shore with its front wheels in the water. The rear bumper has been partially removed and the one-piece muffler completely removed from the vehicle. It seems that the airbag was also deployed.
Braswell was an undrafted rookie for the Arizona Cardinals. A breath test showed that he had exceeded Ohio’s legal Blood Alcohol Content limit. Braswell was the sole passenger in the vehicle and he is facing an Operating a Vehicle Incarcerated (OVI) charge. Braswell, who was far away from his team, graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio.
Put-in-Bay in Ohio is a popular summer tourist spot. It’s packed when the waters warm up so it’s a good thing that no one was hurt. Braswell could face jail time, fines and suspension of his license, depending on whether this is his first offense.
