Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition Brings Exposed Carbon Fiber Hood

Nissan finally gives the R35 its updated badge.

While we wait for the production ready Z to arrive, the only update that Nissan is making to its other performance car is the most subtle. The GT-R R35 was launched in prehistoric times. This special edition includes cosmetic updates to refresh a car that has been around since late 2007. Stealth Gray is the latest Godzilla model. It’s based on the Nismo range-topping model.

Exclusively available on the Nismo model The new body color was not applied to the hood, as the Special Edition has a clear-coated carbon fiber bonnet that exposes its weave. Nissan managed to trim 100g (3.5 ounces) from the GT-R by getting rid of the paint. It also made the GT-R look cooler.
These 20-inch Rays forged aluminum wheels have red accents and are unique to this model. This is the first time that the supercar has the revised corporate badge. It also graces the trunk lid but not the grille, where the “GT-R” logo has been prominent for as long as anyone can remember.
