Nissan launches a gold Leaf to support the UK Olympic medalist

All U.K. gold medalists will receive a gold-wrapped Leaf.

A unique GT-R with Usain Bolt was created four years ago. It featured a gold exterior and was sold for $193.191 to benefit the Usain Bolt Foundation. As a reward for winning gold at Rio 2016, Nissan decided to give Max Whitlock the all-electric Leaf car.

After his return from the games in Brazil, he will be presented with the keys to the Leaf and a gift of ‘brilliant brightness gold’. Nissan states that all athletes of the Nissan Team GB or ParalympicsGB returning from the Olympic Games, Brazil with a medal will receive an identical Leaf. However, only one car per athlete.

Nissan must prepare significant amounts of gold wrap, taking into consideration that U.K. has 16 gold medals and is now in second place after the U.S.

A gold medal at the Olympic Games is an incredible achievement. However, a new zero-emissions car makes it even more sweeter and motivates the athletes.
