It looks great, but there are very few chances that it will happen.
The new Nissan Qashqai brought a more modern design to the global compact crossover, and also included tech upgrades. The European version of the Rogue Sport has 187 horsepower (140 Kilowatts) as well as 243 pound-feet (325 Newton-meters) in torque. Although this is a decent output, it’s not as powerful as modern SUVs with performance.
We haven’t heard any news about a sportier Qashqai. Although a slightly stronger model is possible in the future we doubt that there will be any full-blown Nismo version. We can still dream about a Qashqai Nismo.
Designer X–Tomi has a new rendering that shows a performance version the Qashqai/ Rogue Sport duo. The exterior features a two-tone finish, with Nismo’s distinctive contrasting red stripes on the bumper diffuser and side skirts. As the standard bumper of the crossover is compatible with the performance version, it does not need to be modified.
Massive brakes with red discs are hidden behind six-spoke, black rims. The track seems to be slightly wider than the actual vehicle, and the model is slightly lower to the ground. The final touch is the blackened V-shaped grille at the front fascia that matches the skirts and diffuser.
The new Qashqai engine lineup will feature electrification. Let’s speculate for a moment that a Qashqai Nismo could be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system, which would include two electric motors and one small turbocharged combustion engine. This would allow the Nismo-tuned crossover to have all-wheel drive and better weight.
