Nissan hinted at a Z car that would be more popular in the future.
The Nissan Z Proto, which the Japanese automaker unveiled last week, is full of retro. The model’s rich history was used by designers to create a stunning sports car. Nissan hinted at a more powerful model, but didn’t say if it would be a Nismo. It could be anything else. The regular Z won’t arrive until the second half of next year. We also don’t think the hotter Z will be available until then. We created a new rendering after imagining what the new Nissan Z Nismo might look like.
We would expect the Z Nismo to be similar to previous Nismo models if Nissan offered it. This rendering shows the car with unique ground effects, a large rear spoiler and hood vents. The design and setup is similar to the one we have on the. 2020 GT-R Nismo The curved front lip sits below a large square grille. Red accents are also seen on the side mirrors as well as the larger side skirts. The rear diffuser is barely visible, while the Nismo badge at the top right of the grille completes this sporty look.
Last week, Nissan’s Z Proto concept featured a twin-turbocharged V6 motor. However, the automaker did not reveal its specs. Rumours suggest that Nissan will borrow an engine from Infiniti Red Sport models. This would make the regular Z 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts). The Z Nismo model with more horsepower would likely be hotter, possibly with a different tune or an entirely new engine.
We don’t know the exact date, but Nissan may offer an electric Nismo version sometime in the future. However, that would be determined by customers. The new Z will not be available until 2022 in the US. While the Z Proto is impressive, it is still a concept. We are eager to see the real thing and any performance version that the automaker develops.
