Nissan promises that the new Z car will not disappoint.
It’s been long overdue but finally it’s here. Well, almost. The wraps will be removed from the Z car by September 16. Nissan has released another teaser video to ease the wait. The clip confirms that the exterior design will be based on Z models from the past. It shows round headlights akin the Nissan Fairlady Z / Datsun 240Z, and taillights inspired the 300ZX (Z32).
We are also becoming more familiar with the Updated Z logo As another nod to Z cars of yesteryear, the rear pillar was decorated with a Z car emblem. We are also allowed to peek into the cabin, where we might be tempted to believe that the car had a manual transmission gear lever. What’s the point of focusing attention on this area? The yellow stitching on the console is evident, but the main attraction of this video is the do-it yourself gearbox.

Similar approaches were taken by the company in 2005 with the GTR Proto. This car looked very similar to the R35 production-ready model that arrived just a few years later.
It could be that it is a prototype and not a production model, which could indicate that Nissan is still working on the successor to the 370Z. It might not be available for sale until next year, or possibly in 2022MY form in the United States.
