Nissan’s Super Bowl Ad with Eugene Levy Driving the New Z

The ad also features Catherine O’Hara and Danai Gurira as well as Dave Bautista and Brie Larson.

The Super Bowl addays was released by Nissan. Star-studded spots shine the spotlight on the new Z and Ariya. In addition to Danai Gurira and Dave Bautista and Brie Larson, there are also appearances by Schitt’s Creek stars Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy.

Brie pulls up in a new Z, and throws the keys to Levy. He initially struggles with the manual-gearbox-equipped sports coupe but eventually gets the hang of it. Levy passes Bautista and Gurira as they sip coffee in a cafe. O’Hara is shocked to see him in the Z.

The commercial becomes an action movie. There are helicopters, explosions and motorcycles. Levy still drives the Z, but his hair is longer. He appears to be trapped on a roof, but he uses a Mad Max-inspired vehicle as an escape route. Gurira, riding a motorcycle, throws Bautista into a flying Z.

The setting changes again to show the stars of the ad watching the commercial in theaters. Gurira, Larson and Bautista then walk out to get in an Ariya.

Nissan highlights the Z’s new Z product in the ad, but it keeps the ad lighthearted by making Levy the main character. He’s not the kind of performer that you would expect to be doing stunts and quoting one-liners, given his past work.

Nissan will promote the ad as an action movie before the Super Bowl by placing posters in certain cities. A Eugene Levy action figure will be released by the company with long hair. A sweepstakes will be held in which one person will win a brand new Z.

This year, Super Bowl ads will be run by several automakers and car-related businesses. According AdWeek BMW, General Motors and Kia will air commercials. WallBox and Vroom, a used car website, will advertise during the game.
