BMW created a hilarious “reverse April Fools Day” joke in New Zealand.
You probably weren’t impressed with the BMW-branded Mouthguard. But you’ll love what BMW New Zealand did today. They replaced a 15-year-old Nissan Avenir with an all-new 1-Series, valued at 50,000 AUD. How did this happen? BMW NZ placed an advertisement at the bottom New Zealand Herald’s frontpage, asking readers to bring in their old car and replace it with a 1-Series.
According to the advertisement, the winner would be the person who arrives at the dealership first and asks for Tom. This may seem like a joke for April Fool’s Day, but Tianna Green brought her Avenir to work at 5:30 AM. She was selected as the winner.
She drove her Nissan wagon home and picked up a new 1-Series hatchback, just like the newspaper advertisement.
