Expectancy of 80,000 Miles
Wait, what? !
According to the publication, Nokian will increase production at its Tennessee plant and in Europe of the new tire model. Nokian One is being marketed as the first all-season tire made by the company specifically for North American markets. Although there is no price yet, Car and Driver talk about an “affordable” price.
But, wait. Let’s not forget the huge number at the top of this headline. We aren’t clicking on you, but that’s the number Nokian claims is possible because of a new combination of materials. There’s a lot of aramid fibers in this tire, which is the same compound used in the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT3 or R3 winter tires. It is the first time that the company has used it in an all-season tire.
These fibers strengthen the tire’s sidewall and make it more resistant to pothole strikes. Nokian is so certain that the technology works, it will offer the Pothole Protection Warranty program as an option to purchase a set One tires. If a pothole hits a tire, the warranty will replace it free of cost.
Nokian claims the new One tire will perform better on wet surfaces than the Entyre 2.0 all season tire. The new tire will also have lower rolling resistance. Nokian One will come in approximately 70 sizes, ranging from 14 to 20 inches.
