Novitec Rosso tunes Ferrari 458 Italia
Novitec Rosso just showed us their Racing 606 tuning packages for the Ferrari California. In preparation for next week’s Geneva Motor Show, the German tuner of the prancing horses has now revealed their program for the Ferrari 458 Italia, their latest model from Maranello.
Novitec Rosso kept the engine modifications simple for this new model. They’ve added a new carbon-fiber airbox, a high-performance exhaust system made from nickel-chromium-based superalloy Inconel, which weighs 21 kg (46 lbs) less, as well as sport exhaust manifolds, sport catalysts and a rear muffler with a sound control flap that can be activated by a button on the steering wheel. A remapped engine management system was installed to optimize ignition and injection. This resulted in an additional 39 PS (28.7kW/39 bhp), which is a 609 PS total (448 kW/600 bhp), at 9,100 rpm. At 5,400 rpm, peak torque increased from 540 Nm (398 Lb-ft), to 569 Nm (448 kW / 600 bhp).
Novitec Rosso tuned the body components in the University of Stuttgart’s wind tunnel to achieve a top speed of more than 330 km/h (205 MPH). The aerodynamic-enhanced kit is made of carbon fiber and includes a lower spoiler as well as right/left wing flaps, ventilation louvers, and a bumper fascia. Side skirts, side skirts and carbon-fiber mirror housings are also made of carbon fiber. Last but not least, the engine hood and roof panel are made of carbon fiber.
For the 458 Italia, custom-tailored versions were created of the three-piece Novitec Rosso N3 wheels. Novitec Rosso used a staggered combination size 9Jx21 and 12Jx22 wheels on the front and rear. The custom-made Pirelli PZero tires can be mounted in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 or 335/25 ZR 22, respectively.
NOVITEC ROSO sport springs reduce the Ferrari’s ride height by 35 millimeters, while the hydraulic front lift system can raise its front lip by 40 millimeters to clear parking garage ramps and speed bumps.
