What is Bentley doing?
Alert Scooby Doo and his gang, because these spy photos show a mysterious machine. It is clearly a Bentley Bentayga Speed, but there are modifications that make it difficult to identify.
This Bentayga Speed appears to be wearing the Blackline Specification pack, which includes blacked-out elements in the exterior chrome. This example does not have the 22-inch black five-spoke wheels that are part of the package. These are similar in design, but have a different finish.
At the back, things get more mysterious. This exhaust is not the traditional oval-shaped design. It has a split-pipe design to keep the same look, but it has four outlets. The rear diffuser’s strakes are thicker than the ones that come from the factory.
We think the Bentayga suspension may be lower than the current one.
It’s unclear what Bentley is trying to test here. We don’t expect any major design changes to this model, as the exterior does not have camouflage. There is a possibility that the Black package will be updated with a new exhaust and diffuser design.
One possibility is that Bentley may have changed software or hardware on the Bentayga. It’s rare to see automakers dragging a car around the Nordschliefe without a reason. There’s almost certainly something that needs testing on this crossover.
The Bentayga speed just got a new interior and exterior design for the 2021 model. The twin-turbo W12 6.0-liter engine is still under the hood. It’s capable of 626 horsepower (467kilowatts) as well as 664 pound-feet (6900 newton meters). It takes 3.9 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) and Bentley claims a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h).
