Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG has the latest AMG model, the 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8. This replaces the naturally-aspirated V8 of 6.3 Liters.
The M157 unit can produce 386 kW (525 PS/ 518 BHP) in its normal configuration, but the AMG Performance Package can dial up to 410kW (557 PS/ 550 BHP). The torque rating is 700 Nm (516lb-ft series), 800 Nm (590lb-ft), with the performance package.
The new power plant boasts a stop/start system and high-performance injectors, which results in a 22 percent increase in fuel economy over the previous 6.3-liter unit. The E63 sedan now has a 9.8 liters/100km rating, while the wagon is rated at a mere 10 liters/100km.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed sports transmission with three driving modes, “S” (Sport), S+” (Sport plus), and “M”(Manual), helps to keep fuel consumption down and adds a lot of excitement to performance.
