Official photos of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon released

After publishing photos submitted by readers, Mercedes has removed official photos of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon. Full details inside.

Yesterday’s catch left the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon nearly completely untainted. The automaker has now released official photos. WCF readers Alsuwaidi in the Middle East and xLumino in Switzerland are both to blame for forcing MB to release photos of the car. We also don’t know if Mercedes planned to release the photos today.

Yesterday’s picture did not show the rear taillights clearly. We can now see LEDs integrated into the design. They start on the side panel and wrap around to the hatch. We can see the oval-shaped dual exhaust pipes neatly hidden at the back of one vehicle. The exhaust appears to be hidden a bit more in the beige model than it is in the other.

All E-Class wagons will have the tailgate and cargo cover open and close mechanically. The estate will be approximately half a centimeter shorter than the current model. The cargo volume should be maintained at 1950 liters (68.8 cubic foot). The dashboard is quite simple and clean. It’s only cluttered by tri-tone colors of black, beige, and brushed steel.

Rumours suggest that the car will have five engines, including a 292 horsepower and a top-of-the-line 388 horsepower petrol engine. Prices in Germany may be as low as 55,200 euro for the low-end models and high-end models at 70,200 euro for the higher end. The diesel offerings should be between 170 hp and 231 horsepower, with retail prices starting at 44.800 euros and going up to 54.200 euros.

The car will have nine airbags, active head restraints and seatbelt pretensioners. The 4matic AWD system, along with other engines, will eventually be available.
