The hype is real.
According to a report by Auto Express that stated the next Z car would not debut until late 2022 Nissan has now officially announced that the replacement for the 370Z will be revealed in just two weeks. The sports car will debut September 16th. Or will it? The name “Proto” could refer to a prototype. 2001 Skyline GT-R Proto showed the production-ready R35. We may not see the final Z car, but Nissan may unveil a prototype that is close to production.A new teaser image has been released by Nissan of the rear-wheel-drive coupe. It doesn’t reveal much, but it helps ease the wait. The original preview of the LED lighting signature and the silhouette of the eagerly awaited Toyota Supra/ BMW Z4 competitor was released at the end May. The company won’t give any more details at this time, but they did say that the new Nissan Z Proto will “reawaken the Power of Z” and combine 50 years of passion, heritage, and modern technology.

Official details about the technical specifications of the next Z are still unknown. However, it is likely to heavily rely on the 370Z and not be a new development. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 from the Infiniti Q60 red Sport 400 could make it as powerful as 400 HP or more in Nismo specifications.Nissan may be selling the Z Proto with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed automatic transmission. However, that remains to happen. You can expect a much improved interior with higher quality materials and the most up-to-date technology.
