Toyota officially revealed the 2013 Land Cruiser Prado.

The facelifted model is described as “one the most technically advanced and simple to use 4WD vehicles in all of the world.” It features a new front fascia, an expanded grille, and redesigned headlights. Although the styling changes may not be popular, Toyota claims that they enhance “toughness and reliability” as well as their outstanding off-road performance.

The changes to the back are less controversial, but they include new license plate garnish and revised taillights. Restyled wheels are also available and the model comes in four new exterior colors: Attitude Black Mica (Brown Mica Metallic), Dark Green Mica, and Dark Blue Mica.

A new 4.2-inch multiinformation screen provides “significantly improved off-road driving aid with the additions of new angle gauge, differential lock operation screens and traction control operation at each wheels.”

Two engines are available in Europe. The 4.0-liter V6 petrol engine produces 282 HP (207kW) and 385Nm (283 lbft) of torque. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.9 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 180 km/h (111 MPH).

The turbodiesel 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel produces 190 HP (140kW) and 420 Nm (309lb-ft). The three-door Prado can run from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds (110.6 with manual transmission), and can reach a maximum speed of 175 km/h (108 mph).
