Officially rated 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor at 450 HP, 510 lb-ft

The combined fuel economy of the off-road vehicle is 16 mpg.

According to leaked figures, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will have 450 horsepower and 510 pounds-feet torque from its 3.5-liter biturbo EcoBoost engine. The expected fuel economy ratings will be 15 mpg city, 18 highway and 16 mpg respectively. This is not too impressive when you consider the previous Raptor’s 12/16/13 mpg.

The Raptor’s debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show was a promise. It is powered by an upgraded version Ford’s EcoBoost engine, which is also available in many other models and will be the basis of the Ford GT’s powertrain. Raptor’s tweaks include full dual exhausts and an increased turbo boost.

This is a significant power increase over the old Raptor’s naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 that produced 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft. The Raptor’s new 10-speed automatic transmission replaces the predecessor’s six speed gearbox. The new 10-speeder can also be used in other F150 models. It also has a stop-start function.

The 2017 Raptor is standard with four-wheel drive and a variety of driving modes. These include a Baja’ setting for high speed off-roading, powerful Fox shock absorbers and burly Fender Cladding. The Raptor’s aluminum bodywork will help it shed 500 pounds more than its predecessor.

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will be available for purchase at $49,520 SuperCab and $52,505 SuperCrew. Ford has not confirmed that the Raptor will start at $50,000. Keep checking back for more information as we near the date of the wild truck’s sale.
