Officially Revealed 2010 Toyota 4Runner

There are two engine options: a 4.0-liter V6 with 270 horsepower and 278 lbft torque, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 157 horsepower and 178 torque.

Toyota officially revealed the 2010 4Runner after a few leaks.

The new 4Runner is taller, longer, and wider than its predecessor. It has bold styling but retains a familiar look. Toyota claims that the 4Runner was designed to look truck-like in order to give it a rugged and powerful appearance. Base SR5 models come with mud guards and fender extensions. They also have a unique grille and a standard roof rack. Trail models are off-road-focused and feature a unique hood scoop and bumper guards. They also have darkened head-and tail lights and darkened bumper guards. The Limited model is the most expensive and features a chrome grille, 20 inch wheels, and body-color accents.

The classic sport-ute design is supported by rugged body-on frame construction and two advanced four wheel drive systems. The Trail and SR5 models come with a two speed part-time four wheel drive system. The 4Runner Limited comes with a full-time four wheel-drive system with a locking central differential. The Trail model has an electronic locking rear differential that can be locked and unlocked, so you won’t have to worry about going off-road.

The 4.0-liter V6’s fuel economy is 17 mpg/23 mpg on the highway for 4×2 models, and 17 mpg/22 mpg for 4×4 models. Four-cylinder 4×2 models are rated at 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

The 4Runner’s interior features more space, premium materials, and a modern dash design. All models come with a variety of options, including a Safety Connect system, rear-view monitors, leather upholstery, a navigation system and seating for up seven people.
