It can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.85 seconds.
After a few leaks the Ferrari 488 Pista is here to convince you not to buy a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The official press release contains all the details, including the power and weight of the Ferrari 488 Pista.
The new Pista, Italian for “track”, was sent to Maranello’s fitness center to lose a staggering 90 kilograms (198 lbs). The car now weighs in at 1,280 kg (2.822 lbs) dry, provided it is equipped with all the lightweight options.
It then began to bulk up, adding 50 horsepower to make it 711 hp (753 kW) which is “the greatest ever increase in engine power for special series cars.” The biturbo 3.9-liter V8 engine is the most powerful in Ferrari history. It has also increased 10 Newton-meters (7 pound feet) of torque to the GTB, and now provides a mountain-moving 770Nm (568 lb.ft).
The Pista can reach speeds of up to 211 mph (340 km/h) in just 2.85 seconds. The GTB takes 3 seconds to reach 100 kph and 8.3 seconds to 200 kph. It tops out at 295 mph (330 km/h).
Ferrari engineers used the knowledge from the FIA World Endurance Championship to develop the new 488 Pista road car. This was to increase its downforce by 20% compared to the GTB. The new hardcore version sounds louder and more aggressive than the previous model.
The Ferrari 488 Pista will be on display in metal starting March 6, at the 88 Geneva Motor Show
