Mercedes released photos and details for the new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series, following leaked photos earlier in the month
After leaked photos earlier this month, Mercedes released photos and details for the most powerful C-Class ever, the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series.
According to previous reports, the performance specs are accurate. The AMG 6.3-liter V8 produces 517 PS (380kW/510 bhp), 30PS (22kW/30 bhp), and a maximum torque output of 620 newton metres. It is channeled through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed sports transmission with rear differential lock. Acceleration between zero and 100 km/h takes just 4.2 seconds (provisional).
Mercedes’ fourth Black Series model, the C63 AMG Coupe has an adjustable AMG coil over sports suspension and AMG brakes system (ceramics are available). The wheels are 9×19 (front) and 19.5×19 (rear), respectively with 285/30 R19 and 255/35 R 19. The AMG Track Package, which includes active rear-axle transmission cooling and sports tires, is also available.
The exterior of the C63 Coupe Black Series is aggressive. It features an arrow-shaped front that includes large air intakes in its front apron and lower splitter in black. There’s also a bluging aluminum roof with two air intake vents. Mercedes has updated the skirts on the side body with a black molding strip. To accommodate the wider track width of the rear axle, the quarter panels at the rear have been extended by 42mm. Front of the rear wheels, air openings have also been placed. The trapezoidal quad exhaust, which is integrated into the black diffuser at the rear, also signals its Black Series intent. It protrudes beyond the profile of the rear bumper. The boot lid spoiler has been painted in body color. As a final touch, the “Black Series” badge is included. All body parts are made from genuine carbon fiber.
Interiors also reflect motor sport goals, with two AMG sports bucket chairs upholstered in black DINAMICA Microfiber on the seat centers and a new type synthetic fiber on the doors. To reduce weight, the rear bench was removed. However, two rear AMG sport seats can be ordered as an option. The AMG performance steering wheels are covered in DINAMICA microfiber/nappa leather. Additional details include the “Black Series” logo on dashboard, AMG door sills, AMG sport pedals in brushed stainless steel, and red seat belts with contrasting topstitching.
This weekend, the C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series will celebrate its world premiere at the Formula 1 race at the Nurburgring. It is the German Grand Prix. It will be available for sale in January 2012 at a price of 115,430 Euros (incl. VAT). Germany: 19% VAT
