The STi-badged Subaru BRZ teased a few days ago is simply a tS concept that was presented this week at Fuji Speedway’s 86 festival.
The tS concept is disappointing as Subaru did not fit a turbocharger, so the output of the 2.0-liter engine at 200 HP (147kW) and 150 lb-ft (295 Nm) has remained unchanged. The tS version of the Subaru BRZ tS will be offered in two versions: the standard BRZ tS or the BRZ tS “GT package”.
The GT kit includes several exterior modifications, including a dry carbon GT wing, borrowed from the Impreza RA STi, multi-spoke black alloys, kidney grill inserts and Bilstein suspension upgrade. Red stitching is also added to the steering wheel, shift lever, and steering wheel. You will also find styling changes for the fog lamps (and surroundings), side sills, and front spoiler lips.
The standard Subaru BRZ tS does not include the exterior trim, rear wing, or Recaro seats. However, the wheels are white in color.
Each version will come in 250 units. They will be available for order starting August 18 . Production will begin in October and deliveries will follow shortly. The Japan-only model will cost 4,090,000 yen (around 41,300 USD/ 31,700 EUR/ 27,200 GBP for the six speed manual) and 4,190,000.yen for the six speed automatic (43,400 USD/ 32,500 EUR/ 28,000 GBP for the sixspeed automatic).
