One Man tries to redesign his Toyota Supra MK5 from MK4.

Would you choose this to the real thing?

The fifth-generation Toyota Supra has been criticized a lot since its unveiling, mainly because of its citizenship. It is Japanese or German? Or both? It’s up to you what your thoughts are on the matter. As they say, to each his own.

However, when it comes to design, I believe we can all agree that MK5 Supra’s face appeals to many. It doesn’t appeal to everyone, however. Marouane, also known as the Sketch Monkey, is a car designer. Although he was not a big fan of the Supra’s launch, he did like it.

He didn’t let this stop him from redesigning the car. Instead of using the MK5 for his base image, he used the MK4 to modify the coupe to look more 2020-ready. The image below shows his final product.

Redesigned Toyota Supra MK5 by TheSketchMonkey

Thoughts? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. But, if you asked us directly, we would admit that we are a little unsure. We think the ‘S LEDs’ on the front are a nice touch. It reminds you that you are actually looking at a Supra. However, we believe he should have chosen a non-chrome set. The MK4 looks great with shiny rims, but it’s unlikely that they would work in this day and age.

It felt more like TheSketchMonkey version was still being used and not a new-generation model. These design differences are not evolutionary and therefore would not be considered for a new-generation model designation.

We are the only ones who can say that. We’ll choose the Toyota dealer-only version if we have to. Design-wise, it is.
