Coach-builder creates the 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlineta – only 3 were ever made.
Gullwing America, a coach-builder, has announced its latest project, the Ferrari F-340 Competizione. It is based on the 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlineta.
This 1952 model was designed for competition in Mexico’s Carrera Panamericana. Only three examples of this car were ever produced.
Arturo Alonso from Gullwing America in San Antonio, Texas, will be reinventing the model with modern technology. Based on the 456 Ferrari platform, the car will be re-bodied and made in aluminum by Mark Nungent from Australia. The car will feature a diffuser and rear spoiler as well as side vents, front splitters, and side vents.
A 5.4-liter V12 will produce 476 PS (350kW/470hp), and it will be paired with an original 6-speed manual transmission. The brakes and taught suspension will be modern tech.
The interior will be very similar to the original car, but with modern touches like carbon fiber seats, roll bars, special luggage sets, and chronometers.
