Only a quarter of Ford Ranger customers opt for stock look

Blue Oval trucks are loved by buyers who love to decorate them.

Although the Ford Ranger was a late entry in North America’s midsize truck market, it made a significant impact. In Q2 2020, every nameplate of its class in the United States outsold the returning, which includes the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and the Jeep Gladiator. The Ranger was outsold by the Toyota Tacoma, a Japanese competitor.

Surprisingly, the Tacoma The Ranger offers only one option for appearance, but it has many aesthetic options that are loved by its customers.

Chad Callander, Ranger Marketing Manager, said this after he spoke with Muscle Cars and Trucks recently. Callander stated that Ranger customers are fond of appearance packages. He stated that 75% of Ranger sales consist of appearance packages. This speaks volumes about the buyers’ desire to see their trucks in showrooms.

The most popular option is the FX appearance package. It accounts for a third of all Ranger sales. Only 25% of total Ranger sales are made without the FX appearance package.

“We offer the Black Appearance Package and Sport Pack… these appearance packages account for 75 percent of our sales… customers love accessories.” FX packages are another feature that is very popular in the Ranger market. These packages account for nearly a third of all sales,” Callander stated in an interview with MC&T.

You should also be aware that the Ranger has five appearance options, including the STX Special Edition Package, which was introduced for the model year 2021.
