Opel has revealed that the Adam S will have a German starting price of EUR18.690, including VAT.
The Opel Adam S was introduced at the Paris Motor Show last month and is now available for order in Germany. It’s a stylish, powerful city car that people want. The Opel Adam S is the top-of-the-line model in the Adam series. It features a four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine of 1.4-liter capacity that produces 150 HP (110kW) and 220 Nm (162lb-ft). A six-speed manual transmission channels power to the front axle.
Opel claims that the Adam S takes 8.5 seconds to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0-100km/h), and 7.9 seconds to go from 50 to 75mph (80 to 120 km/h), before reaching its maximum speed of 130mph (210 km/h).
The engine is not only powerful but also fuel-efficient. It can consume 6.4 liters/100 km (36.7 mpg US/44.1 mpg UK). This is made possible by the use of a stop/start system.
The Opel Adam S has an upgraded engine. It also benefits from a retuned steering and suspension, stronger brakes, and sport-tuned suspension. 18-inch Typhoon alloy wheels are available, matched with red brake discs. You can also purchase sport pedals and a pair of Recaro sport seats front for an additional EUR1,300.
Opel Adam S deliveries are scheduled to start in early 2015. However, those interested can place orders right away in Germany.
