Opel claims it can hold seven people and two golden retrievers.
Citroen unveiled the brand-new Berlingo just a few days ago. Today, we can check out the sibling from Russelsheim. Opel has unveiled the 2018 Combo Life. It is described as the family’s best friend due to its spacious cabin and high degree of flexibility. You can choose between five or seven seats and one or two rear sliding doors. The lengths are either short (4.40 meters), or long (4.75 meters).
The Berlingo’s Cactus-infused, funky styling may not be your cup of tea. You might prefer the Combo Life’s more traditional exterior design. The standard five-seat model with the standard length will hold 597 liters of luggage (measured from the top of the back seats), while the extended-wheelbase version with rear seats up can store an incredible 850 liters. It can also accommodate 2,693 liters (measured from the roof) when the rear seats are folded down. Opel offers buyers the option to choose from either the standard 60:40 split second row bench or the optional three-person individual seats.
There are many storage spaces throughout the cabin, in addition to the large cargo volume provided by the trunk. A center stack that can hold a 1.5-liter bottle is possible, and an overhead storage area holds a generous 36-liter box.
Opel has yet to reveal details about the engines. However, it states that the Combo Life will come with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines. All will be turbocharged with direct injection. The output will be channelled to the wheels via a five- or six-speed manual gearbox, while an optional eight speed automatic, which Opel claims is an industry-first, will add an additional cost.
The 2018 Combo Life is a family-oriented product. It features Opel’s most recent safety tech, including a front camera, head-up display, automatic cruise control, and driver drowsiness alarm. The Combo Life also features an advanced park assist system and a panoramic rearview cam to make it easy for drivers to park their vans.
After seeing the Combo and the Berlingo, we are eager to see the new Peugeot van. It will be available later in the week.
