Opel Corsa celebrates 40 years with a special edition individually numbered

As a tribute to the supermini’s birthday, only 1982 cars will be produced.

Opel has launched a special edition to celebrate 40 years of the Corsa A, which was first introduced in 1982. As a tribute to its predecessor, the subcompact hatch is painted in Rekord Red. The striking hue is contrasted with a black roof to create a two-tone appearance. You can achieve the floating roof effect by darkening both the A-, B-pillars and the top of your rear pillar.

Opel will offer the Corsa 40 Years with 17 inch alloy wheels in glossy black with matte accents. The dual-tone exterior finish is enhanced by the exclusive use of black for the front grille, side mirror caps, and roof-mounted rear spoiler. The Russelsheim-based marque finished the exterior by blackening its badge front and back, as well as the tailgate opening.

The Corsa 40 Years is a step back in time. Its tartan upholstery is a common feature of European cars from the 1980s. You can also buy limited-edition tartan socks to complement the retro-flavoured seats. Opel’s B segment hatch receives a unique numbered plaque, which goes from 0001 up to 1982. It is mounted on the dashboard’s passenger side on a background of black with a red insert.

The Corsa 40 Years is a special edition and comes with standard equipment that includes automatic LED headlights, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and safety kit like front collision alert with emergency braking and pedestrian detection.

Since its inception 40-years ago, the city car was the best-selling vehicle in Germany. The Corsa-e was also the most popular EV. The Peugeot208/e-208 sister model will go on sale in limited edition in the next weeks. However, it will only be available in select markets in Europe.
