Overdrive sent us many images and details about their latest project, which was a Toyota Hilux with three axles. It’s the “poor man’s Mercedes-Benz G63AMG 6×6” version of the G63. Converting a Toyota Hilux to a six-wheeler costs less than the EUR456,900 for the 2015MY G63 three-axle. The ambitious project was managed by Vromos, a team of engineers from Bulgaria who specialize in modifying a wide range of vehicles for off-road adventures.

The interior of this particular Hilux has many changes. After Vromos finished the exterior, Overdrive took care of the interior. The name may sound familiar because Overdrive was responsible for the refurbishment of a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL as well as a Jaguar XJ220 in 2013.

The standard front seats have been removed from the Hilux and replaced with a set of electric seats made by Land Cruiser. Nearly all visible parts inside are covered in leather and Alcantara including the dashboard, center console and door panels. A revised steering wheel has a more ergonomic design, and the headliner is covered in Alcantara.
