The new version, despite not having a roof on it, has more power than the coupe and is lighter.
Pagani acknowledged that the Huayra Roadster was in development back in 2014. but it took until 2017 Geneva Motor Show before the hypercar with open roof finally made its debut. The topless model is finally here after such a long wait.
Horatio Pagani and his team did more than just cut off the Huayra coupe’s top. The face is sharpened by a revised front fascia. The roof can be removed and gilled nacelles sculpted behind each seat. If it rains during a drive, occupants can remove the panel to provide some protection. The transparent part in the middle of the carbon fiber unit adds a touch of style.
Mercedes-AMG’s biturbo V12 produces 752 horsepower (561 Kilowatts) in the coupe and 738 pound-feet (1,001 Newton-meters), of torque in its roadster. These are significant improvements over the standard coupe, which produces 719 horsepower (536 kW) & 738 lbft (1, 000 Nm). The seven-speed gearbox continues to be used by the droptop. Pagani still has the option to make a more serious BC version with 789 horsepower (588 kW) in the convertible’s specifications.
Convertibles are generally heavier than coupes due to the extra bracing required to maintain chassis stiffness and without a roof. Pagani is able to lose 176 pounds (80 kg) and still maintain its weight at 2,821 pounds (1.280 kilograms).
Pagani has only 100 Huayra Roadsters in production. Each costs $2.4 million (2.28 Million Euros). However, it’s too late for you to purchase one. Pagani has been showing potential customers the convertible since 2016 Monterey Car Week, and the company has already reserved customers for the entire run.
