Paris Motor Show 2019: Audi Q3 Adds Color to the Mix

Paris Motor Show 2019: Audi Q3 Adds Color to the MiThe new Audi Q3 is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, and it landed in Paris with a stylish Pulse Orange coat.

With a completely new exterior design and tech-laden interior, the Q3, Audi’s previous entry-level crossover ( Q2) made its public debut at this week’s Paris Motor Show. This new generation is a significant departure from the previous and seeks to capitalize on the crossover trend that the automotive industry is currently experiencing.

The Four Rings have switched production of the compact luxury SUV from SEAT’s Martorell, Spain, to Audi’s Gyor, Germany plant. The assembly process began about three weeks ago. Now, a Pulse orange example shines under the spotlight at the Paris Show. It features a TFSI gasoline engine with an all-paw Quattro control system.

Paris Motor Show 2019: Audi Q3 Adds Color to the MixAudi has increased the width of the Q3 by 18 millimeters (0.7 inch) to avoid conflicting with its smaller cousin, the Q2. As the wheelbase has been extended by 77 millimeters (3.0 inches), this increases roominess. The second-gen Q3 offers more elbow, headroom and knee room due to its larger footprint than its predecessor. The cargo volume is 530 or 675 Liters (18.7/23.8 cu feet), depending on where the seats are placed. They can also be moved forward and backward by 150 millimeters (5.9 inches). You can fold them to get cargo volume of 1,525 Liters (53.9 cu.ft).

Paris Motor Show 2019: Audi Q3 Adds Color to the MixThe 2019 Audi Q3 is another member of Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. It will come with three gasoline engines and one diesel engine, but availability will vary depending on where you live. These engines produce power outputs ranging between 150 hp (1110 kW) and 230 hp (1169 kW), but we expect SQ3 or RS Q3 to be available. In the future, versions will increase the power output even further.

The revamped Q3 incorporates Audi’s new design language. This was first seen on the A8 flagship before it trickled down to the A7 Sportback, Avant and A6 Sedan. The Q8 is the first ever to feature the Ingolstadt brand’s latest styling direction, as well as the A1 supermini (Sportback only).

The new Audi crossover is not the only one on display in Paris, as the Q2 also makes its public debut.
