Maserati will unveil a new sports car with two seats at the Paris Motor Show.
The Paris Motor Show is expected to be an exciting one this year. According to CarAdvice Maserati will bring a new two-seater sportscar that will likely compete with the Ferrari 458 and Porsche 911 in this segment. CarAdvice was informed about this by Maserati, who sent an e-mail to existing Maserati owners.
Harald Wester , the CEO of the company, revealed some details about a mid-engine sports car that has been compared to Maserati’s Alfa Romeo 4C. The car will be approximately 4.4m long and weigh in at 2,645 lbs (1.200 kg).
While the concept version will make an appearance in Paris, the production version should be out within 2-3 years. This new model is likely to replace the GranTurismo coupe.
The GranTurismo’s V8 4.7-liter V8 will not power it. Ferrari is currently working on a twin-turbocharged V6 to power the 4C. The engine will produce 442 horsepower (330 kW), and it will be connected to a dual-clutch 7 speed gearbox that allows the car to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4 seconds.
