It could just be a styling package, as Abarth would prefer a performance version. It does however have dual exhaust tips, a rear diffuser and a subtle trunk spoiler lips. These are signs that the Aegea/Tipo is a beefier version.
The black “356 S” body decal indicates that this new derivative will likely go by the name “Aegea S”, while the “356 S”, the codename for the standard model, is also visible. The body has been beefed up with larger side skirts and more aggressive rear and front bumpers. The front grille fins are red, and the roof and side mirror caps have a contrast black finish.
The Aegea S’s powertrain is still unknown. It could be a turbo 1.4-liter with 138 horsepower (103 kW) or 177 lbft (240 Nm). This torque is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. At this time, it is not clear if the five door hatchback will receive this treatment.
