The new exhibit will open on March 12.
Many people, especially those who don’t have a car enthusiast in their family, used television and movies to get a glimpse into the amazing world of automobiles. You can see some of the iconic vehicles at the Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles, thanks to over 100 years of television entertainment. The museum will be home to some of Hollywood’s most famous cars from film and TV.
The museum houses more than 300 vehicles from automotive history’s iconic past and niche crevices. It will also host a variety of vehicular Hollywood creations from cars and bikes to custom machines. Petersen’s “Hollywood Dream Machines – Vehicles of Science Fiction and Fantasy” continues with the new exhibit, but it includes a wider range of vehicles.
Terry L. Karges is the museum’s executive Director. He stated that “some vehicles used in TV and movies have become as popular as stars themselves.”
The 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor will be on display, also vehicles from Black Panther and Men In Black. The Ecto-1 will still be in its original condition from 1984. It will also feature the 1981 DeLorean ” Time “Machine” from Back to the Future, which is a great pairing of iconic 80s movies. The DeLorean that Petersen will be displaying is the only one to have appeared in all three films of the franchise.
The Batmobile from Batman Returns and the Batmobile will join them, as well as the Motor-Terminator Motorcycle from Terminator Salvation. The 1976 Ford Torino, a big star from the small screen, will be joining the group.
Karges said, “We are thrilled to display these are genuinely the most iconic cars from Hollywood’s long-storied history in film and television series production.” The unique collection will appeal to both movie and television fans as well as automotive enthusiasts.
