Peugeot 2008 Next-Generation Rendered with 3008 Cues

This year’s launch should be larger, more luxurious, and more comfortable than 2008.

With nearly 180,000 sold, Peugeot’s 2008 cross-over was Europe’s second best-selling model in the small SUV segment. It’s one of the older models in the class but it’s doing better than newer entries like the HyundaiKona or Kia STonic. The 2008 model is in dire need of major repairs. A new generation is likely to be launched by the French company towards the end or early 2019

This is a virtual rendering of a potential design for the adorable mini SUV. This render shows an attractive yet functional design that will be inspired from the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs. The second generation 2008 should have new underpinnings. This will likely be shared with the Opel Mokka. A clever packaging design and slightly larger body dimensions will result in an improved interior space and a larger boot.

The latest technology from PSA should be on board, including the iCockpit digital instrument cluster. The dashboard layout should look similar to the 3008/ 508 duo. This means that a small steering wheel is placed lower to increase visibility of the digital screen. A large touchscreen display with eight inches will dominate the middle console. The infotainment system will integrate most of the vehicle’s functions.

There should be several turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines under the hood. The 1.2 turbo gasoline motor and the 1.5-liter HDI diesel will be the most popular.

Peugeot will develop an all electric version of its 208 hatch. This could lead to an EV version of the small crossover. Although the powertrain claims to have a range of 185 miles (390 km) between charges, nothing is currently confirmed.
