The main novelty is the 10-inch digital instrument cluster.
The current-generation Peugeot 308 has existed for seven years. While many of its competitors have been updated, the compact French model continues to be available for the 2021MY, with minor modifications. The last update to the generation switch brought Vertigo Blue paint and two new alloy wheels. The high-end version comes with an optional Black Pack that adds a variety of dark accents.
The 2021 Peugeot 308’s main feature is located inside the hood. Here, the analog dials in the instrument cluster have been replaced with an all-digital system. The i-Cockpit measures 10 inches and features the same technology as the 208, 2008 models. It also has a capacitive-touch infotainment with a glossy finish.
The GTi’s model-year change in the 308 is a reminder that it still exists. It has a turbocharged, 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 263 horsepower and 340 Newton meters (251 pound-feet). The four-pot can be hooked up to a six speed manual gearbox, enabling the hot hatchback reach 62 mph (100 km/h), from a standstill, in six seconds. En route to electronically controlled 155 mph (253 km/h),
The 1.2-liter turbocharged engine produces 110 to 130 horsepower in the lower versions. The first is only available with a 6-speed manual, while the latter can also be purchased with an 8-speed auto. You can choose from either 100 or 130 horses via the 1.5-liter diesel. The six-speed manual is also available. An optional eight-speed auto is available for the beefier version
All 2021 Peugeot 308s come with dual-zone climate control. Although the car is starting to look old in design terms, it still has safety tech such as adaptive cruise control and 180-degree camera.
As Peugeot has to release a new model to compete with the refreshed trio of Golf, Octavia and Leon, we hope this will be the last update for the 308.
