According to a new report, the French marque has a hot 308 R that Peugeot Sport is working on for a 2015 release.
This order was reportedly decided based on the 208 GTi’s success and RCZ R models. Peugeot had already stated its intention to offer a range-topping 308. The R concept that Peugeot displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year has been a huge hit. This one featured the RCZ R’s engine. It was a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo-hybrid THP with 270 bhp (201 kW), and 330 Nm (234 lb-ft) torque.
According to the same report, Peugeot is developing a road-going 2008 DKR and a modified T16 Pikes Peak. This latter will attempt to beat the Nurburgring lap record of 6 minutes, 11.13 seconds. It was set by Stefan Bellof in 1983. He drove a Porsche 956 Group C.
