Official debut will be made later in the month.
On March 18, the brand new Peugeot 308 will debut, bringing with it new technologies, new engines and a brand new logo. We have seen the wagon and hatchback versions of the French compact on public roads. Now, we can see the final exterior design of the Peugeot 308 thanks to new renderings.
Kolesa.ru colleagues used spy photos to base their virtual drawings. Although the car in the attached gallery is based on the 308 of the previous generation, there are many modifications that give it a modern look. Gallery: 2021 Peugeot 308. SW renderings
Peugeot’s new front-end design will include LED lights that extend into the bumper, as seen in spy photos. The brand’s trademark three-stripe design will be used on the headlights. It will be placed around a large radiator grille that will be embellished with the updated logo. Although the rendering does not use the new emblem Peugeot has already confirmed that the new 308 will get it.
The silhouette at the back doesn’t look very different to the current 308 SW. However, new taillights and bumper designs, as well as a more aggressive diffuser, (probably for GT Line trim), will make a significant visual difference.
The new Peugeot 308 will use an evolution of Peugeot’s EMP2 platform for the oily bits. Each engine in the compact model will be electrified. We feel the days of diesel engines for the 308 are over. The range will include a range-topping plug in hybrid powertrain with a peak output at 225 horsepower (168 megawatts).
It remains to be determined if the wagon and hatchback will be available simultaneously on March 18. Rumours suggest that the 308 will get a rugged, offroad-inspired variant later in the model’s lifetime as a rival for the Ford Focus Active.
